Over the years we have seen certain technology be pushed out of relevancy. Smartphones are Swiss army blades of technology. One of their features that just about every smartphone has is a flashlight option/ app, utilizing the same LED that is used for the flash on your camera. Because of the ability to have a light source from your phone, most have found no need to use flashlights. While it’s great to have a backup light source in case of an emergency, you should still use the right tool for the job and invest in an actual flashlight.

Why carry a flashlight when you have a phone?

Battery life-

As said above, a phone should honestly be used as a last resort. The main reason for this is your phone should be used more for its main function- which is to communicate with others. The main reason to limit phone use is to save battery life. We all know how fast a phones battery dies if you use it too much.

Durability-

One other reason to not use the phone is its actual durability. It’s always a sad day when we drop our phones and the screen ends up cracking or it stops working all together. Don’t take the risk, avoid using your phone in a precarious situation, know that the tool you are using is built to handle a mistake.

Flashlights are built to have extended battery lives and to be as durable as possible. With new LED flashlights in the market, flashlights are becoming smaller and more powerful each year. Flashlights are also designed for the workplace with swivel heads and casing that can resist heavy impact. Easy to use, compact, durable, and affordable a flashlight should be in anyone’s pocket that needs some extra light.
